Episode 14 : Friendship Out of Strife

The episode opens with Skull Kaiser completing installation of the Charge Circuit into the Kaiser Bones as Phantasma King awakens. He gets up shakily, challenges Skull Kaiser, and gets no response. He then demands that Skull Kaiser fight him and finally Skull Kaiser stands slowly and tells Phantasma King to attack him. Phantasma King is initially confused, and Skull Kaiser snaps this time for Phantasma King to attack him. Phantasma King scowls and goes through his preparation pose, then delivers the Phantasma Screw. Skull Kaiser shouts, "Ghost Kaiser!" as the Kaiser Bones glow and shimmer and he bolts forward almost as fast as light. The Phantasma Screw passes right through the flash, and Skull Kaiser's hands are clutching Phantasma King's head ready to twist with the Kaiser Claw. Skull Kaiser releases him and turns away while Phantasma King drops to his knees, bowing his head in utter defeat. Phantasma King now realizes that he hit Skull Kaiser as hard as he could before, and while Skull Kaiser's blow hadn't been fatal either, he had been wounded by Schatten Messer, not to mention the fact that he's been fighting almost constantly over the last several days. He asks why Skull Kaiser didn't kill him the second time and is told that to have done so would serve no purpose. Skull Kaiser questions Phantasma King's loyalty to Samhain, telling him that the while the Artifacts are powerful, they don't make men what they are. Men have decisions to make and they have to live with them. Skull Kaiser confesses to living a long time avoiding the implications of his decisions, but the Loss Queen opened his eyes. Skull Kaiser offers Phantasma King a choice: He can retire somewhere on this world from war and have Skull Kaiser destroy the Whirl Plate, or he can join Skull Kaiser in his quest to defeat Samhain. Like Schatten Messer, Phantasma King suffers from hero worship to some degree and cannot ignore Skull Kaiser's appeal. Eventually, Phantasma King decides that it would be better to clear his conscience and fight against Samhain, plus he cannot escape the awe he feels for Skull Kaiser.
