I know some of you would like to see an end to these Tragic Providence progress reports, only because a finished product is perhaps overdue. To you, I apologize. I want to make sure the story is told in the best possible way and sometimes that means that the creative process takes over and demands what it demands. The end is in sight, as I keep saying, and hopefully nothing else will get in the way.
I said else, and I wasn’t referring to a slow February. On March 22nd, I confirmed with a doctor something that I was trying to pretend wasn’t happening. It all went so fast. A very particular blood test and a physical exam later, and I was scheduled for surgery the next day. The surgery went well. I’m still recovering, but I was back to my day job in just under a week and am now waiting on the follow-up tests, the results of which are the real concern. Once those are in, I’ll have a better understanding of what I can expect in the future. Sadly, this is not an April Fool's joke.
I will finish the book. There is no question about that, but there may be a few delays not dictated by that rascally creative process. In the meantime, here is the blurb for Tragic Providence:
