Alternate Ending: Mars: Progress Report 11

Alternate Ending: Mars
16,900 words

Well, 1k isn't as much as I was hoping for, but looking for a job right now is pretty stressful. Unfortunately, writing hasn't really paid for itself or much of anything else, so it really is a labor of love (and, to a lesser extent than in years past, an obsession). There will absolutely be more to come, but I desperately need a job. Anyways, back to the search!

I'm back! You'd think that I'd have more to show after a 4-month hiatus, but moving to California and the anxiety brought on by COVID-19 kind of took the wind from my sails. I hope to change that and be more productive moving forward, balancing time on writing with the job search.

The story is moving along. Looks like it's shaping up to be a novella, which is fine. I have an idea for a sequel, so we'll see how things shake out.

Baby steps are nothing new, but they may be the new normal. I got back on the horse and hope to keep riding as long as I can.

Another Dead Month

I'm afraid I'm going to have to put writing on hiatus for a bit. Going to take some time away and hope to come back recharged.

No Progress to Report

The summer heat is sapping all of my creativity. Plus, I have other things on my mind. Hope to get back to Alternate Ending soon, but I may end up taking a break.

Baby steps, I know, but it's progress.

Had my first (and hopefully last) migraine of 2019 yesterday. The COLORS!

Off to a tiny start, but a start nonetheless!

What if we had an alternate ending to the 1980s?

I give technology a few nudges and pay homage to a few favorites. Please note, though, that my choices are mine alone and may be questionable! It'll be fun! You'll see.

Endless Road: Progress Report 18 (FINAL)

It's taken me two years—and I'm a little late with an update—but here it is!

Endless Road is live and available for download from Amazon.com!

Endless Road: Progress Report 17

King Yellow: Endless Road
65,900 words

I’m almost finished revising the 1st draft. Once it’s done, I want to go back through for another pass. After that, I’ll need to format everything for upload, which shouldn’t take too terribly long.

King Yellow: Endless Road

I had hoped to have this finished and out by now, but maybe it was already pretty evident that it wasn't going to happen. The 1st draft is done. I'm still waiting for a little feedback before proceeding, but the book really is close to completion.

I did put up The World Tree, which, despite first appearing in Approaching Infinity Book 6: The Damnation Reprieve, works quite well as a stand-alone short story. Links for both can be found on the right sidebar. I'm hoping to make that, along with the rest of my short stories, free wherever they can be found.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season and good luck to us all in 2019!

Merry Belated Christmas & Happy New Year!

Endless Road: Progress Report 15

King Yellow: Endless Road
64,100 words

It may not look like much, but I did manage to get past my writer’s block. A huge, months-long chunk of nothing melted away by a few encouraging words. Pretty neat. In any case, the book really is nearing completion. It may be a bit on the short side (ironic, given its title), but it will be what it will be.

In other news, I’m taking steps to make my short stories free for download. Some of them can already be found on Smashwords (and soon to be elsewhere via their distribution channels). Eventually, they should be free from Amazon.com as well.

Happy Holidays!

All these posts are starting to (?) sound the same. Anyway, a little more progress—always good— and I don't want to cry wolf, but I think I might be in a position to start really pushing through to the end.

Endless Road: Progress Report 12

King Yellow: Endless Road

Added relevant material from Approaching Infinity Book 6. I'd originally intended to include this, changed my mind, then changed it back. Though it's just a casual and incomplete view of the end of the AI series, I wanted to make the King Yellow books as stand-alone as possible. Anyway, satisfied with the choice. Might take a little revision of the material to make it more relevant to King Yellow, but that shouldn't pose too much a of a problem.

Also reworked a few things and made some general edits. Getting there!
