Episode 35 : Drusus! Your Bitterness Has Consumed You!

Skeleton General Skull Kaiser
(In Hell)

Skull Kaiser, formerly one of Samhain's greatest generals, stages a rebellion against impossible odds. The fate of countless worlds rests upon his ability to protect the Loss Queen and beat back her assailants. Along the way he is forced to fight old friends and make new allies...

Episode 35 : Drusus! Your Bitterness Has Consumed You!

The episode opens with Agrippa standing in front of the remaining Loss Tower soldiers, many of whom are wounded. He's addressing Schatten Messer who's bleeding from a small wound himself and who's holding two knives, one of which has a broken blade. Schatten Messer laughs defiantly at Agrippa, telling him that Samhain will win no matter what. Agrippa says that that may be the case, but it won't be due to any intelligence retrieved by Schatten Messer. They begin fighting, Agrippa avoids a Tracks attack and displays his superiority without having to resort to the Tabehoudai. Schatten Messer falls dead.

We cut to an exterior view of Gear Binder's troop transport, now woefully empty, as it approaches an enormous tangle of the Undead Vine which disappears up into the black sky (we've seen on Samhain's diagram how this vine connects planets!). Inside the ship, Pythagoras apologizes to Gear Binder for destroying all his troops, but glibly remarks that they were of little value, really. Gear Binder is forced to remain silent. The ship approaches a platform fixed into a huge section of vine. There are patterns traced on the platform and Gear Binder informs his passengers that they're approaching the Jump Field and that they'll be back with Samhain soon.

We cut to Drusus who looks as if he's been brooding silently. He finally explodes in anger, condemning his comrades for being so weak and willing to believe a horrible monster like Skull Kaiser. He continues, telling Skull Kaiser that he will not allow him to go any further, that the Loss Queen's honor will be upheld by her own soldiers. Skull Kaiser merely says that he's sorry Drusus can't see it differently and they start to circle each other. We have a voice over of Drusus illustrating his hatred and bitterness for Skull Kaiser. Drusus doesn't care how many tests Skull Kaiser has passed, even if it's the truth, it doesn't matter to him: Skull Kaiser must be defeated. Each picks the same moment to attack, exchanging blows. Skull Kaiser is forced to keep his distance somewhat for the threat of Drusus's sting-topped tail, which moves with lightning speed and with what seems like a mind of its own. The episode closes with Drusus continuing with his voice over, asking what Skull Kaiser thinks of his training in the interim, as he seems to be providing Skull Kaiser with quite a challenge.

To Be Continued...
